Norwich Spring Showcase
Stage management for a two-night dance showcase at a city theatre.
We took the booking six weeks out and spent the first fortnight building the running order with the producer, trimming changes that would have eaten into the interval. On the get-in we marked the floor, set the wing positions and walked the young dancers through their entrances so nobody froze on the night. Cue calling sat with our stage manager, with lighting and sound following the book. Both shows came in within two minutes of the advertised running time, and we handed the venue back clean the same evening.
Fenland Dance Festival
Full stage management across a three-day festival programme.
Three days, four companies and a shared backstage area meant the schedule had to be tight from the start. We ran a rolling get-in each morning, reset the floor between companies and kept a whiteboard of calls by the wings so everyone could see what was next. When a afternoon set ran long, we shortened a changeover rather than cut a piece, which the companies appreciated. We closed each night with the site left secure and ready for the next morning's crew.
